After his Academy Award nomination two years ago for Call Me By Your Name, Timothée Chalamet appears to be headed for awards season once again in Netflix’s The King.

Directed by Animal Kingdom’s David Michôd, the film is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Henriad (Henry IV, Part 1, Henry IV, Part 2, and Henry V), and stars Chalamet in the lead role, with Joel Edgerton at his side as the infamous Falstaff. Having ascended to the English throne upon his father’s (Ben Mendelsohn) death, Henry (Chalamet) must now deal with the political turmoil that accompanies any shifting of power, and his new responsibilities as king.

Robert Pattinson also stars as Louis, one of the sons of King Charles VI of France, with Lily-Rose Depp as Catherine, Henry’s wife. Also starring are Sean Harris as Michael Williams and Game of Thrones’ very own Tommen, Dean-Charles Chapman, as Thomas, Henry’s brother.

The film will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Sept. 2, and hit Netflix soon afterwards this fall.
