The Predator is coming to Ghost Recon Wildlands
Ubisoft is releasing an update to Ghost Recon Wildlands on Dec. 14, and it looks like the content pack is going to include a very special guest. You can watch the trailer above.
“Can you survive the Hunt?” the trailer’s official text states. “Watch this teaser and stay tuned to find out more about this upcoming Ghost Recon Wildlands special event!”
That’s right: The freakin’ Predator is going to show up. We’ll be getting more details at noon Eastern today, but this is already surprisingly good fit for a game that struggled with its tone at release.
Skinned bodies hanging upside-down in the jungle? Sure, let’s do this. Why not? There was even talk about how the game had referenced the Predator films in the past, and it looks like the speculation about what that could mean can be laid to rest.
This is a fun surprise, and we’re looking forward to learning more later today.
Update: Here’s the official trailer from Ubisoft. And the details:
From December 14 through early January, the Predator will bring its unique skills to a special challenge that sees players (solo or with up to four players in co-op) hunting the creature—and being hunted in return.
Significantly, there is also a new class of soldier for the game’s PvP Ghost War mode. Ubisoft was careful to say the soldier is based on Dutch from Predator, without mentioning which one of the film’s three future gubernatorial candidates played Dutch, probably because of licensing purposes. You can guess who it is, though.
